Christmas is in a few weeks?! Ok, how did this happen? I'm still cleaning up the sand from summer!
My Mom always says that time goes faster when you get older. I am beginning to think she is right. One minute I was 40 and now here I am at 50ish......
Saturday is my longest and dearest childhood friends birthday. She will be 52! Yikes. When I was growing up, 52 was ready for the rest home. I am so grateful that 52 is nothing age wise by today's standards.
I guess my age scares me because I have these beautiful boys I dearly love and want to see grow up. I also hope to be here long enough to be a grandmother. But I know that the Lord is in control of my life and not me so I just leave that up to Him.
Dante is learning Spanish. Now that would be great except for one little problem. I got a D in Spanish! Oh, did I mention that I am his homeschool teacher? Yea, see, now you get it. So I should say that WE are learning Spanish.
So now what does all this have to do with Christmas? Well, it is the small and large things of everyday life that seems to make Christmas so stressful for many of us. The need to please and try to make everyone happy is stressful (not to mention ridiculous!) all on its own. Now, add the Holidays on to that pile and what do you have? A MESS! Too much stress. A stress mess!!!
So as we continue to trudge through each day approaching that scary morning when we hope we have not forgotten anything or anyone and that all we have done is enough, remember that it is only one day and does not deserve SO much power. I just need to remember it is our Lords birthday anyway and all the gifts are really for Him.
Until next time, be well and happy!
