Jake is 3!

Well, there they are.  My daily inspirations.  The little one is Jake and he just turned 3 yesterday.  It was so much fun watching his face as he opened his presents.  When all was said and done, he liked the $1.00 stretchy bugs the best!  Hilarious!  My husband said we should just buy kids under 5 years old $1.00 toys and they would be in heaven.

Jake is my long awaited 2nd child.  The older one is Dante and he is 11 years old.  We just could not seem to have any more on our own so we decided to adopt.  It took me a very long time to decide if I could go through with adoption because I was so afraid of the child being taken away, so after much research, my husband and I settled on adoption through an agency that vendered with the county.  We went to about 3, no 4 different orientations and final picked one.  After becoming a certified Foster Parent we waited and waited.  We wanted a baby so that we could be sure to allow Dante to be the oldest and well I wanted a baby!  We became foster parents not to foster children but to be able to bring a child we wanted to adopt into our home without waiting for adoption papers etc., to get going.  I never started out as a foster mom but that is what I became.

We ended up leaving that agency for many reasons but mostly because we never received a child in the almost year we were with them.

One day when I was at  a Bible Study I attended,  a women heard about what had happened with the prior agency and she gave me her sister-in-laws number.  Her sister-in-law is one of three women who started a foster to adopt agency.  I called her and the rest as they say is history.
We became a foster family and had the honor of caring for 6 children before Jake was introduced to us.  He had some delays and health issues but we did not care because we gave over our desires to God long ago so whoever he gave us we knew would be perfect.

There is so much more to tell about my sweet boy, but that is for a blog later.  I am very grateful for the journey because I see how God used my family and myself for His work.  What an honor!
